PPEC — Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care — is a Florida Medicaid benefit designed for children from birth until their 21st birthday with medically complex conditions. Rather than remaining in a hospital or receiving fragmented care at home, children attend our licensed medical daycare center where registered nurses provide continuous monitoring and licensed therapists deliver physician-directed treatments. Conditions we serve include cerebral palsy, sickle cell disease, seizure disorders, congenital anomalies, chronic respiratory conditions, technology-dependent needs, and many others.
Miramar families may work with pediatric providers across South Florida. With family authorization, Elite PPEC coordinates relevant care-plan information with approved providers. Travel time and transportation availability vary by address, traffic, clinical need, authorization, and current routes.
Many Miramar families learn about PPEC after their child has been treated at Memorial Hospital Miramar or referred by pediatric specialists in the Memorial Healthcare System. We coordinate closely with these providers to ensure seamless transitions and consistent care planning for every child who enrolls at Elite PPEC.
